Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements

Experience:

Can be new or experienced LPN

Certifications:

+ LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire (range from upon hire to within 1 year) + Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Physical requirements/demands:

+ Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis + Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
+ Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
+ Surgical Trauma "3A" is a 33-bed unit, fast-paced med-surg telemetry unit which focuses on adult post- operative and trauma patients. Nurse patient ratios are: Days 5:1, Nights 6:1. On our unit we offer you the opportunity to develop excellent critical thinking skills as well as use a wide variety of clinical skills including:


- + Head-to-toe assessments*
+ Reading and posting telemetry strips
+ IV insertions
+ Catheter, trach, and ostomy care
+ Wound care
+ Chest tube
