The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is primarily to serve the Veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:

• Receives and gives change of shift reports.
• Requests stock drugs, medications, and supplies as assigned
• Administers CPR in emergency situations
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients
• Gathers information about patient's past and current physical and mental status.

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Classified WAE Appointment (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period)
Compensation: This position offers $28.00 hourly plus shift differential pay, with rates varying based on shift, day, and holiday schedules.
