We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing therapeutic support to individuals and families, with a focus on various mental health challenges. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The counselor will utilize evidence-based practices to deliver high-quality care while adhering to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients.
Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention.
Develop personalized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
Facilitate family counseling sessions to enhance communication and resolve conflicts.
Offer support for clients dealing with PTSD, addiction, grief, chronic pain, and developmental disabilities.
Implement behavior management strategies and applied behavior analysis for clients with autism or other behavioral challenges.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Engage in clinical research to stay updated on best practices in mental health counseling.
Provide telehealth services as needed to accommodate client preferences.
Requirements
Valid state license as a Mental Health Counselor (LPC, LCSW, or equivalent).
Experience in psychotherapy, crisis management, and clinical counseling.
Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical records.
Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and group therapy.
Experience working with children and families is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and patient care practices.
Ability to conduct intake assessments and develop effective case management strategies.
Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation practices.
Experience in hospital settings or outpatient clinics is preferred.
