As a Level 1 Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Your primary focus will be to implement behavioral therapy strategies under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You'll engage with children and adults, fostering their growth and development through tailored interventions. Your contributions will not only enhance their quality of life but also empower families and communities.
What you'll do
Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
Collect and analyze data to track progress and inform treatment adjustments.
Provide Observation and Direction
Collaborate with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.
Foster a positive and engaging environment that encourages client participation and motivation.
Qualifications
Have a doctoral or master's degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health, child development or a related field;
Be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D) or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. (BACB);
Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health, child development or a related field;
Be a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) through the BACB and have 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience that meets all registration, supervision and continuing education requirements of the certification; or
Meet the requirements for a provider shortage variance one or two.
Preferred qualifications
Background in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or related fields.
Experience working with people with autism or other disabilities.
Skills in data collection and analysis for behavioral health purposes.
