Job Duties:
This position supervises field operations, provides oversight, trains and directs inspection, operation, maintenance and improvement activities for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority - West (SLFPA-W), such as grass cutting, herbicide application and maintenance of an extensive mitigation program. This position is responsible for oversight of the Operation, Maintenance, Repair, Rehabilitation, or Replacement (OMRR&R) of over 2800 acres of wetland mitigation property owned by the West Jefferson Levee District across six separate sites. The Maintenance Manager will report to the Levee Maintenance Administrator and ensure that all work such as vegetative control, data collection and sampling as well as physical maintenance such as earthwork or dredging are performed in accordance with the USACE provided O&M manuals as well as industry best practices. The position will manage 3 herbicide applicators who will execute the mitigation maintenance program.
