Lecturer or Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management

Job Summary:
The Department of Marketing, Agribusiness, and Supply Chain Management at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is seeking applications for a Lecturer or Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management position that will begin in August 2026. The position is focused on championing the department's highly successful Supply Chain Management (SCM) program. The SCM program is seeking dynamic and engaged candidates with expertise in the field of Supply Chain Management. A successful candidate will have the ability to teach in multiple areas related to the SCM discipline. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and hands-on, experiential learning and be eager to collaborate with industry partners to enhance student opportunities. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in SCM, participating in internal and external service activities, and advising and interacting with students. Tenure-track appointments require scholarly research and publication related to the SCM discipline. Lecturers will have a teaching load of four classes per semester with no scholarship requirement and must commit to completing a doctorate in SCM or an SCM-related field within 5 years of hire. Additional responsibilities for Tenure-track appointments and Lecturers may include advising and mentoring students, participating in student recruitment efforts, supporting the student-run Supply Chain Management Organization (SCMO), and building industry relationships that are beneficial to the SCM program.
Job Responsibilities:
SCM Lecturer or Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor is expected to perform the following responsibilities:

• Teaching a full-time course load. Primary teaching areas include Fundamentals of SCM; other potential areas of teaching include Negotiations, Materials Management and Purchasing, Transportation and Logistics, and other upper-division courses as necessary to meet the needs of the program. Teaching delivery method may be in-classroom and online.
• Engaging in internal and external service activities, developing and maintaining SCM program relations with industry employers, and organizing on-campus SCM student activities (career fair, socials, bus field trips, case competition, and SCM program fund raising)
• Advising students and working as faculty advisor for the SCM student organization
• Pursuing professional development
• Tenure-track appointments require scholarly research and publication related to the SCM discipline.

Required Qualifications: Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor:

• PhD or DBA in an SCM-related field from an AACSB accredited institution. All but dissertation (ABD) may be considered if successful program completion is expected by May 2027.
• A minimum of 5 years of verifiable recent and relevant U.S. based industry experience in an SCM-related area of responsibility
• College teaching experience with proven teaching excellence

• Proven ability to conduct high-quality research and quality publication history

• Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in building relationships with potential employers and other external stakeholders

Required Qualifications: Lecturer

• MBA or a master's degree in an SCM-related field from an AACSB accredited institution with a commitment to complete a doctorate in SCM or an SCM-related field within 5 years of hire
• A minimum of 5 years of verifiable recent and relevant U.S. based industry experience in an SCM-related area of responsibility
• Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in building relationships with potential employers and other external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications: Lecturer, Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor

• University-level teaching experience
• Online teaching experience
• Proven experience leading a student organization
• Proven industry fund-raising experience
• Proven experience in organizing and leading program-related student activities
