The Learning Associate plays a vital role in supporting CFS learning specialists and coordinating impactful events that strengthen connections between schools, families, and communities. This position ensures exceptional service in every interaction by facilitating smooth operations through a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. From organizing and restocking event kits to maintaining accurate documentation and assisting with day-to-day team needs, the Learning Associate helps keep everything running seamlessly. Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC) is a public entity that is an educational cooperative under the State of South Dakota. BHSSC is comprised of five divisions dedicated to aiding school districts, individuals, and the communities.


Wage-



$21.50-$23.90 per hour based on experience



Job Type-



Full-time, non-exempt (20-29.75 hours per week; Work hours vary throughout the week and may include both daytime and occasional evening commitments)

Provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to the CFS team, including scheduling, recordkeeping, data entry, and report preparation. Travel within Eastern South Dakota, with mileage reimbursement or a vehicle provided. Coordinate and facilitate CFS events-such as Family Engagement and Poverty Awareness programs-in schools and communities, including managing setup, participant engagement, attendance tracking, artifact collection, and cleanup. Compose and maintain professional correspondence while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in all communications. Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, school staff, families, and community stakeholders to support collaborative initiatives. Demonstrate familiarity with elementary-level academic content to support activities with students and families Manage resources and inventory by ordering supplies, organizing event kits, and ensuring proper care and tracking of assigned property. Utilize technology tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Pro to support daily operations and event activities. Provide timely updates and pertinent information to the CFS Deputy Director and adhere to organizational standards. Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops; assist with additional school and community events as needed. Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications-



A bachelor's degree is preferred. An associate degree is required. Extensive experience and knowledge in office procedures. Experience and knowledge in operating office equipment, including computers and software. Familiarity with elementary-level academic concepts to support family learning events. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Valid South Dakota Driver's License
