Job Summary and Qualifications




As a Lead Radiologic Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you'll play an imperative role in guiding a team that delivers safe, accurate, and patient-centered imaging every day. You'll mentor technologists, optimize workflows, and ensure the team has the tools and support to perform with confidence. Your responsibilities will include:




Leading the imaging team and mentoring technologists

to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

Directing daily operations

of the diagnostic imaging department, ensuring the highest level of customer service and image quality.

Guiding and Managing Staff:



+

Develops and manages staff schedules

and is

responsible for adjusting staffing

to meet productivity metrics.
+

Participates with the department manager in performance evaluations

and disciplinary functions.
+

Participates in hiring decisions.


Performing Exams and Patient Care:



+

Performs Radiology exams

following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
+

Cross trains

to all areas of diagnostic imaging as needed (ED, OR, portables, fluoro, pediatrics, etc).
+

Takes patient history

and retrieves any necessary orders or prior images.
+

Provides patient history/signs/symptoms

appropriate to the exam to the radiologist.
+

Guiding patients through imaging procedures

with compassion, comfort, and confidence, informing them about the procedure and answering questions.

Operational Excellence and Compliance:



+

Coordinates patient flow

and checks the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
+

Collaborates with radiologists, nurses, and the care team

to support smooth workflows and excellent patient outcomes, interacting and professionally communicating with physicians, patients, and family members.
+

Appropriately completes documentation

.
+

Maintains and calibrates instruments, supplies, and equipment

for accurate and efficient imaging, including daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc).
+

Contributes to after-hour coverage

through on-call shift rotations as needed.
+

Participates in service recovery

through investigation and customer interaction.
+

Supports and participates in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans

.
+

Promotes customer service initiative

by adhering to the ICARE values.
+ Ensures

compliance with quarterly targeted metrics

(i.e. Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc).
+

Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients

appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:



Education:

Graduation from an

accredited school of Radiology

(Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree).

Certifications/Licenses:



+ Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

(ARRT-R) Radiography

BLS required

. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within

30 days

of employment start date.
+ Maintains all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required.
