We are a people-first organization that is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a thorough understanding of construction management processes. this person will have an knack to get things done, and quielty take pride when the are done right.
Duties
Closely monitor all site improvement including wet and dry utilities to ensure adherence to approved civil and architectural plans.
Produce, manage, and distribute the project schedule, including coordinating with the project manager and sub-contractors to maintain a realistic time-line.
Hold sub-contractor pre-con meetings on site before they begin.
Hold and lead weekly foreman's meetings on site.
Maintain a clean jobsite and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
Lead on site team meetings with the PM, and over-see daily tasks and weekly workload to best support the project.
Daily field management of all trades on site.
File and write daily reports to include any updates or pertinent information that impacts the project.
Assure photographic journals are kept and maintained by the site team, including daily documentation.
Ensure project is completed within budget and schedule from start to finish.
Maintains positive and professional relationships with all vendors, sub-contractors, jurisdictions, team-members, and Sage management at all times.
Understand each sub-contractor's scope of work.
Coordinate with the project engineer to ensure onsite plan sets, and all related construction documentation is kept up to date.
Manage project close-out, including punch list items with the site team.
Coordinate site staging and logistics with the site team and sub-contractors to best support the project's progress & completion.
Communicate with project manager and executives often regarding project status.
Understands all project documentation in order to communicate any changes necessary to the team.
Confirm Sage supervision on jobsite at all times while work is being performed.
Ensure safety compliance and protocols are followed at all times on the job site.
Manage and oversee the daily/weekly tasks of job site team, including assistant superintendents, and carpenter foreman & laborers.
Create a positive team environment at the job site.
Work with struggling trades to improve performance and schedule adherence.
Able to read blueprints and knowledgeable of construction methods & practices.
Have a comprehensive understanding of civil construction, including dirt work, excavation, grading, staking, surveying, cuts and fills, layout, etc.
Be able to layout foundations, sidewalks, etc. when needed to support the project.
Assist the team in bid review and analysis.
Understand submittals, specifications, and plans & being able to perform material take-offs when needed.
Ability to receive, write, and submit RFI's to the project design team, clarifying the construction problem in the field, and seeing the issue through to a sufficient solution.
Provide mentorship and Training to Team Personnel.
Assist the PE, and PM with project close-out documentation.
Skills
Proficient in construction management software including ProCore, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
Thorough knowledge of construction Means and Methods.
Strong Problem Solving Skills
Understanding of local building codes
Experience with Multi-family construction, primarily Garden Style developments
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
