Position Summary:
Based in Hebron, Kentucky, the Shipping/Receiving Clerk - Lead will perform essential job functions under the direction of the Customer Service Manager to meet production and customer needs.
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk - Lead assists both receiving and shipping departments with all tasks involving unpacking, staging, transporting, and packing customer parts. This will also involve verifying the accuracy of the accompanied paperwork. This position is a very active job and requires attention to detail and the ability to handle fragile parts with care
.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers' inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
Follow all written instructions where provided, pack completed parts for shipping, and unpack parts for processing.
Continuously perform visual inspection of parts for damage or issues that must be addressed before shipping to the customer.
Record and sign off on all applicable process steps defined in the job folder for each shipping operation.
Locate all shipping containers and make appropriate and safe use of shipping and receiving materials and equipment.
Resolve incoming receiving discrepancies (i.e., call the customer if discrepancies are noted between the quantity shipped and quantity received.
Document all applicable data for parts being received and shipped per job folder.
Prepare all appropriate documents to go with the parts as per the job folder.
Work with the inspection department to get jobs shipped in a timely manner.
Ship jobs in our internal system as well as customer portals.
Responsible for updating leadership daily regarding the department workload.
Responsible for international shipping that may include additional shipping documents, invoicing, and customs interaction.
Prepare invoices for customers.
Familiarity with FedEx, UPS, and other carriers' shipping software/portals.
Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy requirements:
Using Forklift
Using floor jacks
Using hoist
Keeping the work area neat and orderly at all times
Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Assist others as directed by the Customer Service Manager.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education - High school diploma or equivalent.
May be asked to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
2-3 years of relevant industrial experience.
Familiar with an industrial environment.
Previous experience in the surface technologies industry is desired.
Able to handle and manage a steady pace for workflow.
Good communication skills and team orientation.
Positive approach to changing objectives and priorities.

Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
Ability to hear in person and via phone.
