Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Pressman to oversee and operate our Heidelberg SM102 printing press. The Lead Pressman will be tasked with ensuring high-quality production, maintaining our SM102 press, managing a 4 person split shift crew, and aiding with pre-press layout and scheduling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lithographic printing and extensive experience with operating and maintaining a Heidelberg SM102 or similar presses.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily printing operations on our Heidelberg SM102. Oversee prepress processes including layout design and color management to ensure accurate reproduction of client specifications. Manage quality control procedures to maintain consistency and excellence in all printed materials. Operate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various printing equipment Including the 640 press, die cutters, and other similar equipment. Conduct mechanical tasks related to print setup and maintenance of press equipment. Ensure adherence to safety standards, including proper operation of power jacks and forklifts when necessary. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the printing department to optimize efficiency and quality. Maintain a maintenance schedule to ensure ideal performance of the Heidelberg press.

Skills

Extensive experience with 640 lithographic machinery. Strong knowledge of prepress workflows, layout design, typography, and print. Skilled in color management techniques for accurate color reproduction. Background in manufacturing processes with an understanding of mechanical and quality control standards. Ability to operate forklifts safely when handling large or heavy materials. Familiarity with graphic design principles applicable to print production. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
