Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Painter to oversee and execute painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of various painting techniques, and a solid background in construction and renovation work. As a Lead Painter, you will coordinate with project managers, supervise painting crews, and ensure high-quality workmanship adhering to safety standards and client specifications. This role offers an opportunity to lead diverse projects, utilize advanced skills in surface preparation and finishing, and contribute to the transformation of spaces through expert painting techniques.

Responsibilities



Lead and supervise painting crews on multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer as needed for optimal paint adhesion. Execute residential, commercial, and industrial painting tasks using hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and other equipment. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately determine scope of work and specifications. Perform surface restoration including stucco repair, masonry work, drywall finishing, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and framing. Estimate project materials and labor requirements using construction estimating skills; assist in project planning. Apply various coatings such as paint, stain, epoxy, or specialized finishes while considering color theory for aesthetic consistency. Ensure adherence to safety protocols on construction sites including proper use of scaffolding, ladders, and other tools. Train and mentor junior team members in proper techniques for surface preparation and finishing processes. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.

Requirements



Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting or industrial painting with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Proficiency with hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, brushes; power tools including sanders, drills; airless paint sprayers; masonry tools; carpentry tools; plastering tools; concrete finishing tools; fixture installation devices, like a screwdriver; renovation equipment; framing carpentry gear; trim carpentry supplies; stucco application tools; maintenance equipment; maintenance person tools. Ability to perform surface preparation tasks such as drywall finishing or restoration work including plastering or stucco repair. Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety standards related to scaffolding, ladders, welding safety practices. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients. Valid driver's license preferred for travel between job sites. Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
