Overview

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, including security systems, CCTV, fire alarms, and telecommunication. This role requires both technical expertise and hands-on experience in field service, ensuring the installation and maintenance of various low voltage systems to meet our clients' needs.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including security systems, CCTV, fire alarms, and access control systems. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints for system design and installation. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and repair tasks. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues with existing installations and provide timely solutions. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements. Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards during installations. Perform cabling work for various low voltage applications including data networking and telecommunications. Document all service calls, installations, and repairs accurately in the company's system. Stay updated on the latest technologies in low voltage systems to provide the best solutions for clients.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role with a focus on security systems, surveillance, or telecommunications. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various hand tools and power tools. Familiarity with computer networking concepts and remote access software is preferred. Experience in alarm system sales is a plus. Knowledge of fire alarm systems and installation practices is beneficial. Ability to work independently in the field while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. Previous experience in construction or locksmithing can be advantageous. Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
