The

Lead Heavy Equipment Operator

will safely and effectively operate a wide variety of heavy equipment to support the successful execution of complex heavy civil/pipe projects. Beyond operating, this position demands an "all hands-on deck" attitude and the willingness to actively engage in manual labor tasks.

Key Responsibilities/Job Duties



Effectively operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, motor/GPS graders, etc. Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines/procedures. Perform daily equipment inspections and maintain basic maintenance/upkeep on operating equipment. Read and interpret plans, specifications, utility locates, blueprints, etc. Execute manual labor tasks, such as hand digging, potholing, loading/unloading materials, and other duties/tasks as needed. Effectively communicate with supervisors and crew members. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications/What We Look For



5+ years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, motor/GPS graders, etc.). Proven experience with heavy civil and/or underground utility construction. Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues. Strong understanding of safety guidelines/procedures within the heavy civil and/or underground utility construction industry. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Commitment to performing manual labor tasks. Ability to perform demanding physical tasks in various weather conditions. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening/physical. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work out of town as required by project schedules. Authorized to work in the US.
