JOB TITLE:

Lead Estimator

DEPARTMENT:

Operations. This position is on-site.

SUMMARY:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing comprehensive cost and labor estimates for HVAC and mechanical bid proposals.

DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES:

Maintain, manage, and oversee requests for proposals (RFP's) and construction bid solicitations Track and continuously maintain bid board and coordinate walkthroughs Review mechanical design documents, specifications, and performances Develop construction estimates through computerized tools Develop an in-depth knowledge of mechanical system components and their function Communicate and develop relationships with peer estimators, vendors, and soliciting customers Collect and complete project pre-qualifications Prioritize estimating effort managing deadlines and coordinate to meet expectations Take an active role in training and developing junior estimators and engineers Perform all other duties assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent Self-motivated and proactive to take initiative working in a fast-paced environment and handling competing demands Ability to work under minimal supervision/direction as well as part of a team and sharing information with others Commitment to continuous learning Dedication to the success of both external and internal customers Willingness to be a team player and help with whatever needs to be done Organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage stressful situations and demanding customers with poise * Servant leadership by doing everything possible to make life easier for internal and external customers
