About the Role:



The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) plays a vital leadership role within Comfort of Home Healthcare (COHH), overseeing the day-to-day operations of an Individualized Supported Living (ISL) home. This position provides supervision, guidance, and support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring quality of care and compliance with state and agency standards.

This leadership position supports individuals with complex medical and personal care needs. Applicants must be comfortable providing hands-on assistance and ensuring high standards of care are consistently maintained. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with dignity, respect, and compassion.

The LDSP leads by example; managing schedules, resolving staffing conflicts and challenges, covering open shifts when needed, performing home and documentation audits, and maintaining strong communication between the home, Residential Support Professional (RSP), and COHH administration.

This is an hourly leadership position typically working 36-40+ hours per week, requiring flexibility and dependability. The LDSP must be able to respond to staffing or client needs, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary. Considering this, this position requires availability 24 hours a day 7 days a week

, and COHH must be a priority.

Compensation and Reporting Structure



Hourly rate: $21.75 - $23.75 per hour (determined by experience, certifications, and level of client care) Reports to: Residential Support Professional (RSP) & COHH Administration Work Week: Saturday - Friday Hours: Full time, flexible availability required

Primary Responsibilities



Provide leadership, supervision, and coaching to DSPs Ensure adequate staffing coverage in assigned homes; assist with scheduling and call-offs Cover up to the first 8 hours of overtime before seeking assistance from RSP for coverage Perform monthly quality control home visits to ensure compliance, documentation accuracy, and staff support Maintain oversight of client care, including medication administration, documentation accuracy, and adherence to all care plans Audit and maintain complete and accurate participant documentation to ensure MMAX and COHH compliance Communicate regularly with RSP and administrative staff regarding updates, issues, or concerns Support staff in emergencies or during short staffing, including working additional shifts when necessary Attend quarterly LDSP meetings, service monitoring meetings, and staff trainings Participate in newly hired DSP training and on-going in-home coaching Complete internal audits, spending ledgers, home visit reports, and internal calendars on a routine basis Facilitate and document home meetings, coordinate client appointments, and ensure schedules are completed in COHH's scheduling system by the 23rd of each month. All other duties as assigned

Performance & Accountability



All LDSPs begin on a 90-day trial period to assess performance and leadership fit Annual performance evaluations are to be conducted thereafter If expectations are not met, an additional evaluation period may be issued or reassignment to a DSP role may occur Maintain confidentiality regarding all COHH clients, employees, and business practices both during and after employment

Qualifications



Education

: High School Diploma or GED/HiSET (minimum requirement)

Experience

: Minimum 1 year of caregiving or developmental disability support experience (required)

Skills & Knowledge

: Familiarity specifically medication administration, mobility equipment, and ADL supports(i.e., toileting, grooming, dressing, transfers, etc.) Strong time management, documentation, and leadership abilities.

Certifications (Preferred or Will Train if Needed)

: CPR/FA, Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) or DDMA, Abuse & Neglect, Positive Behavior Supports (PBS)

Requirements



Must be at least 18 years of age Must pass a criminal background screening and participate in drug screenings Must have a

valid driver's license reliable insured vehicle, and proof of auto insurance

Must be able to potentially respond to calls and emergencies outside of typical business hours Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
