Job Description

As a Diesel Technician, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and optimal performance across diverse industries.

Duties



Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC components on tractors, Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacements, and general vehicle servicing to maximize equipment lifespan. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to interpret electrical systems and mechanical diagrams for precise repairs. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools and welding techniques to meet specific operational needs. Conduct heavy lifting using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning; perform diagnostics on diesel engines Maintain detailed service records for each repair or maintenance task performed. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades. by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction. Follow safety procedures rigorously during all repair activities to prevent accidents or injuries.

Experience



Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Hands-on experience with repair tools such as hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and welding apparatus. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation , tractors-trailers, Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex systems. Experience performing brake repairs, wheel alignments, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, and air brake systems maintenance. Knowledge of fabrication techniques for custom modifications or repairs. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs. Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repair needs and maintenance schedules. Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions. Pay: $27.91 - $33.62 per hour
