Position Details

Title: Lead - Development Strategy / Planning

Pay Range: $128,000 - $183,000
Schedule: Hybrid

Purpose

Assist in developing the Renewables Growth Strategy of the Onshore Development team to ensure the achievement of the yearly objectives and FID&COD goals. Defines the regional goals for each regional director, the project priorities, schedules and budgets, leading the growth strategy that will be followed not only by Development but by the different onshore growth stakeholders (Origination, Projects, Purchasing, etc.) Identifying gaps, risks, and challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Will assist in defining AREN growth plan Priority regions, needed pipeline (MW, technology BESS etc.) needed budget, regional contribution to goals, needed FTEs, etc.
  • Will identify short term strategic plan gaps to define Organic Growth Director acquisition goals. (MW, for when and where)
  • Support on IRA/Safe Harbor Strategy. Analyze the latest regulatory changes and provide recommendations on the upcoming strategy.
  • Support defining Regional and project strategy: Define together with each SME the strategy and road to FID of each project (Schedule and Budget). Categorize among Build to own, Keep to Sell, Monetize, Freeze, Challenged, etc.
  • Pipeline Competitiveness ongoing assessment: Continue assessment of the competitiveness of each project of the pipeline. Provide tactical recommendations to increase competitiveness. Put together all the variables that drive the competitiveness of each project technical economical, offtake possibilities, development status, interconnection, permitting financing etc.). Identify and propose other possible monetize options for projects in our pipeline
  • Analyze each important upcoming commitment/expense and provide recommendation to senior management on the decision to make. Lead the preparation on all the needed materials to present the case to the management (CRS MC etc.) to help taking the decision
  • Market intelligence & Competitors: Accountable of tracking competitors\' activities and reporting
  • Regulatory impact analysis: Track regulatory changes provided by the regulation team and provide tactical solutions/recommendations to mitigate impacts and benefit from new regulatory environments
  • Investment Dossier: Accountable of consolidating and review the final version of the investment Dossier, ensuring that it covers all the development, permitting and origination business case and risks. Prepare all the needed materials for Senior management approval
  • Power Purchase Agreement: Provide recommendations on the PPA negotiation boundaries to ensure that the PPA covers all the outstanding development risks
  • Will work together with Interconnection team to develop a long-term IX strategy to gain a strategic position in the market
  • Reporting: Will be accountable of the preparation of all needed materials to present to the top management of the company for decision making.
Skills and Requirements

Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Business or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years\' experience working on the renewables / Electric market industries (Origination, Development, RES Financial modeling, M&A)
  • \xc2\xacStrong Excel, VBA, Word, SAP, PowerPoint, Power BI, skills.
  • \xc2\xacStrong oral and written communication skills.
  • Spanish will be a plus
  • Ability to travel
