Overview
Florida Dental Centers- Bradenton is looking for a Lead Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. As a Lead Dental Assistant your duties would include, but are not limited to: overseeing daily operations alongside the Practice Manager and Doctors to ensure a smooth office flow. You will train, mentor and support new and existing dental assistants. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the clinical staff and will assign chairside assistants based off of the schedule and skill levels. Will also be in charge of inventory and ordering all dental supplies and materials and will stay up to date on OSHA, HIPPA and state dental board regulations. Hours are Mon-Fri 8-5.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications
Qualifications:

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program

or

• Six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
• X-Ray certification
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
