Job Summary

THIS IS A 2n SHIFT POSITION:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Custodian to oversee cleaning and maintenance operations across our facilities on our 2nd shift staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong janitorial, custodial, and facilities maintenance skills, with the ability to lead a team in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment. This role is vital in ensuring that our spaces meet high standards of cleanliness and safety, supporting the overall functionality of our organization.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities for both commercial and residential spaces. Perform detailed cleaning tasks including floor care, buffing, and industrial cleaning to ensure surfaces are spotless and well-maintained. Oversee janitorial operations such as trash removal, restroom sanitation, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting. Conduct residential painting and minor repairs as needed to maintain facility appearance. Manage custodial supplies inventory and ensure proper use of cleaning equipment. Train and mentor team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation. Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility protocols during all custodial activities. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as light repairs, porter services, and general upkeep to support operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience in custodial work, commercial cleaning, or industrial cleaning environments. Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance of various flooring types. Experience with facilities maintenance, including minor repairs and painting. Ability to lead a team effectively, demonstrating good communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with janitorial equipment, cleaning chemicals, and safety procedures related to custodial work. Prior experience in porter services or related maintenance roles is preferred. Physical ability to perform cleaning duties which may include lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery. High attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across all areas. Pay: $20.00 - $25.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
