Summary



We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Staff member to join our Buffalo Children's Center in Buffalo, Wyoming. The Child Care Staff will provide high-quality care and education to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, fostering a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. This role involves direct child supervision, activity implementation, and collaboration with the team to ensure compliance with Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS) Child Care Licensing Rules (Chapter 7: Rules for Certification of a Child Care Center). The Child Care Staff reports to the Center Director or Assistant Director. Full-time or part-time position with competitive salary and benefits.

Key Responsibilities



Child Supervision and Care: Provide attentive, safe supervision of children, maintaining required staff-to-child ratios (e.g., 1:4 for infants, 1:10 for preschoolers). Support children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging, age-appropriate activities.

Program Implementation:

Assist in delivering curriculum and activities aligned with Wyoming early childhood education standards under the direction of the Center Director. Facilitate play-based learning, arts, crafts, and outdoor activities that promote growth and development.

Health and Safety:

Follow health, sanitation (Chapter 8), and safety protocols, including proper hygiene, diaper changing, and meal/snack procedures. Assist with emergency procedures per the Wyoming Emergency Preparedness Plan and report incidents to the Director immediately.

Licensing Compliance:

Adhere to Wyoming Child Care Licensing Rules, including Chapter 4 (General Requirements) and Chapter 7 (CCC Rules). Maintain accurate records (e.g., attendance, health observations) and assist with annual licensing inspections as needed.

Parent Communication:

Build positive relationships with families through daily updates, respectful communication, and participation in center events.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other staff to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.

Professional Development:

Complete STARS-approved pre-service training and facility orientation prior to assuming direct care responsibilities (or within 3 months of hire). Maintain annual continuing education requirements as mandated by Wyoming DFS.
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
