Position Overview:



As the Lead Business Assistant, you will play a critical leadership role in our front office, maintaining excellence in insurance, billing, and customer service. This position is ideal for a highly skilled, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is dedicated to patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight:

Supervise, mentor, and support the Business Assistants (BAs) to ensure consistency and efficiency in front desk operations.

Insurance & Billing Expertise:

Oversee insurance verification, claims processing, and accounts receivable management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Patient Experience:

Provide exceptional customer service, handling patient inquiries, concerns, and financial arrangements with professionalism and care.

Scheduling Optimization:

Manage appointment scheduling to maintain an efficient, productive, and well-balanced patient flow.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:

Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges, ensuring a smooth experience for both patients and the clinical team.

Accountability & Training:

Hold team members accountable for their tasks, provide

ongoing training

, and ensure adherence to office protocols.

Collaboration with Leadership:

Work closely with the doctor and management to implement office goals, streamline processes, and drive practice growth.
Ideal Candidate Qualities:

Someone who is proactive, strategic, and capable of running the front office with minimal supervision. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team. In-depth knowledge of dental insurance, billing, and collections. Exceptional customer service skills - able to build patient trust and handle challenging situations with ease. A high level of attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in dental practice management software (Open Dental experience is a plus). Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
Requirements:

3+ years of dental front office experience

, with a strong background in

insurance and billing

.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience

is strongly preferred. Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal. Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
