Melania's Gourmet is looking for our next all star team member to support the Executive Pastry Chef in a rapidly growing brand. The perfect candidate

must have at least 2 to 3 years of Baking & Pastry experience (Pastry and Baking school is a bonus!), is passionate, dedicated, and hungry-to-learn from a deeply experienced and highly talented Pastry Chef.

This candidate thrives in a fast paced kitchen environment, can handle multiple tasks assigned at once, is a supportive team player where no task is too small or challenge too big.

Position Description

The role of the Lead Baker is responsible for supporting the Baking & Pastry team by following all in-house recipes to prepare and bake a vast assortment of baked goods and pastries for Melania's Gourmet. The candidate will be responsible for daily ingredient inventory management, supporting our Executive Pastry Chef and working directly with our Assistant Pastry Chef to adjust to changing needs that meet the needs of our quickly expanding business. This is a full-time position with a Tuesday through Saturday schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares pastries and baked goods according to in-house recipes using proper equipment and techniques. Takes direction and learns fast to reproduce a large selection of unique pastries and baked goods. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef. Maintains inventory of all pastries, ingredients, and equipment needed for preparation of pastries. Performs sanitation procedures including washing and sanitizing work areas, taking inventory of pastries, equipment, supplies, etc.

Skills Required

2 - 3 years minimum experience working as a Pastry Cook, Pastry Chef, or Baker*
Familiar with kitchen etiquette, procedures and face paced working environments Ability to read and understand recipes written in English Ability to write down ingredients amounts and quantities in food recipes in English according to recipe guidelines
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
