Pain Management Centers of America is looking for a laboratory technician willing to work flexible hours. This role is responsible for performing laboratory presumptive and confirmatory testing, maintaining quality in the laboratory, communicating with all members of the laboratory when necessary, and following overall laboratory accreditation regulations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare urine samples for toxicology testing
Maintain a clean work environment in a laboratory setting
Prepare laboratory reagents
Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies and order supplies when needed
Maintain general maintenance on LC-MS instrument and troubleshoot when necessary
Maintain quality control reports for laboratory
Work with proficiency testing and correlation samples and maintain results
Prepare corrective actions when necessary
Work with a Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Keep track of final patient reports and make sure providers receive them promptly
Work under the supervision of laboratory manager, technical supervisor and director
Follow CLIA guidelines and regulations
Perform any other duties as directed by the lab manager
Education/ Experience:
Bachelor's or Associates degree in a science related field, such as Biology or Chemistry and;
Or meet CLIA requirements of minimum 24 credit hours in a science degree with 6 hours in biology and 6 hours in chemistry.
Or have the experience related to an Associate's degree and graduated from a clinical laboratory training program
Have minimum 3 months experience in the high complexity laboratory subspecialty being performed.
Working Conditions:
The role requires prolonged sitting, standing, bending, kneeling and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Testing personnel will be working with biohazardous and chemical reagents.
