Layout Artist - Everett, WA

Pacific Coast Memorials is seeking applicants for an artist position at our Everett, WA location. You will be joining an existing team of artists, supervised by our art director. This is an on-site role only, remote work is not available at this time.

This is a full-time role, Mon-Fri, with benefits after a 90-day probationary period. An art test may be part of the interview process.

Job description

The day-to-day workflow involves:

- Receiving design briefs for cemetery headstone orders through our internal ticketing system

- Creating proofs based on customer specifications

- Revising those designs based on customer feedback

- Preparing approved designs to be converted to stencils for engraving in our production department

- Some photo retouching for print preparation is often also necessary

- Occasional customer contact for clarification of design specifics

The most important skill to have in this role is the ability to read, understand, and follow instructions accurately.

Qualifications

- Experience or training in design and illustration

- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

- Competence with a drawing tablet (a must)

- Written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to prioritize tasks without needing extensive supervision

- Willingness to ask clarifying questions

- Familiarity with Blender 3d is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.64 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
