Laundry Attendant:

Our convention hotel is looking for a laundry worker to come on board. In this position, you will be responsible for organizing, sorting hotel linens, and cleaning linens, sheets, towels and table linens. You will work directly with the Laundry Supervisor & team to guide you through best practices and address any concerns in the laundry department. This is the perfect position for anyone detail-oriented who enjoys working as a team, takes pride in his or her work. Willing to teach employee to work in this position.

Job Responsibilities

Load articles into washers then dryers at regular intervals to ensure steady availability of towels and linens

Regulate machine processes when starting washers and dryers; specific cycles and temperature.

alert manager when machines are in need of repair.

Sort linens before cleaning, or dirt content for best results

Tend to stained articles, through pre-soaking, spot-cleaning, scrubbing and drying articles as needed

Sort and count articles as they are removed from dryers; hang, fold articles according to required instruction, attention to detail.

Remove stains on fabrics though application of bleaching powders and steam sprays

Will be trained to pick up linen and restock racks in housekeeping linen closets.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, push / pull and stretch for long periods.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow instructions.

Position starts at 9:00 AM and work until lines are completed for the day (or call it a day); depending on conventions, events and banquets. Scheduled days off with occasional changes, along with most holidays. Weekends are a must for this position. (unless requested off) Regular days off Tuesday and Thursdays. {Part-time can be 2-3 days a week of just weekends}
