RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to keep the laundry process running smoothly in order to prevent delays in the delivery of linens and residents' clothing.
Responsible to keep adequate linen supplies to each department in need during the shift and to report needs to the department supervisor.
Responsible for checking and maintaining laundry chemicals to ensure high quality linen.
Responsible to perform assigned cleaning duties.
Responsible for the care and stewardship of all company assets.
Responsible for the promotion of an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within the department as well as other departments.
Responsible to attend all mandatory meetings and in-services.
Responsible for the working condition of the laundry equipment.
Responsible to maintain safety for staff and residents.
Responsible to report any problems, incidents, or exposure to the supervisor immediately.
Responsible to report physical abuse, sexual abuse, caretaker neglect and exploitation of an at risk elder to law enforcement.
Responsible to comply with Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control Policy and must follow the required procedure for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects/materials and the clean-up of blood.
Responsible to work with various chemicals and solutions and comply with EPA and OSHA regulations.
Responsible to follow all rules and regulations of the facility.
Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of all resident information and for reporting all suspected violations of the HIPAA Privacy or Security policy to the Privacy Officer
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Pick up and sort soiled linen on all neighborhoods of the facility.
Wash all linen and personal clothes of residents unless otherwise indicated by the resident or family.
Dry linen and personal clothes of residents unless otherwise indicated by the resident or family.
Maintain a continuous cycle of washing and drying to prevent delays in linen delivery to the neighborhoods.
Fold linen and return to each neighborhood in a timely manner.
Hang and deliver personal clothes to the residents being conscientious to deliver clothes to the correct residents.
Be mindful of noise levels of carts and/or barrels when retrieving soiled linen and clothing and upon delivering clean linen and clothing so as to maintain a quiet, homelike environment for the residents.
Be available to staff, residents and family members to answer questions or concerns regarding linens and/or personal possessions.
Maintain a rack of unlabeled and/or lost clothing items and make available to residents, family members and staff for inspection.
Label residents' personal possessions clearly and legibly upon admission and as necessary.
Re-label residents' personal possessions as they become worn and illegible.
Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor and/or the Administrator.
