Laborer: Full-Service Landscaping

Salary: $17/hour

Summary:

This is a

physical labor position

. You will be responsible for performing a variety of physical labor tasks in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction and maintenance projects. You will be required to operate a variety of power tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Job Duties:

Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction and maintenance projects Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying Operate various tools and equipment, including: push and ride-on mowers, blowers, string trimmers, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, sod rollers, skid steers, etc. Assist in the construction of walkways, patios, fences, posts, etc. Dig ditches or trenches Perform land clearing activities Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns Assist foreman with job-related tasks Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis

Requirements:

18 years or older Reliable transportation to/from our South Austin office (Slaughter and South Congress) Punctuality and Time Management Skills Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment Comply with all company policies and regulations Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations Bonus: Experience in the landscape/construction industry YOU MUST PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK

Work Conditions:

Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Requires good manual dexterity Excellent stamina is required Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Can you do physical work? This job is ~8 hours/day in the brutal heat and you will be moving heavy objects (rocks, wheelbarrows full of granite, etc.) and operating heavy equipment (jackhammers, trimmers, etc.) We perform background checks, and we do not allow assault or theft. Will that be an issue for you?
