The Landscape Operations Manager leads day-to-day residential field operations to deliver safe, high-quality, and profitable landscape services, as well as dependable snow & ice response. This role manages Team Leaders and field teams, scheduling, materials, fleet/equipment readiness, and quality control while driving production efficiency, customer satisfaction, and team development.

Core Responsibilities

Residential Operations & Production
Build and execute weekly/daily schedules for residential design/build and enhancement projects (plantings, outdoor structures, pools, concrete, interlocking concrete, and natural stone patios and retaining walls, irrigation systems, and low-voltage lighting).
Coordinate staff, trucks/trailers, route planning, materials staging, and equipment readiness to keep teams productive.
Lead morning rollouts and end-of-day debriefs; resolve jobsite issues quickly (access, scope questions, quality fixes, customer concerns).
Maintain clear production expectations for Team Leaders and verify jobs are completed to scope and standard.

Quality Control & Customer Experience
Conduct routine site audits and quality inspections, documenting results and driving immediate corrections.
Reduce callbacks by improving training, checklists, and consistency across crews.
Partner with office/account support to handle customer requests, issues, and service recovery.
Ensure teams communicate professionally with homeowners and protect property (beds, turf edges, hard surfaces, landscape lighting, irrigation components, etc.).

Team Leadership & Training
Lead, coach, and hold Team Leaders accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and attitude.
Support hiring, onboarding, field training, and performance management.
Run short, consistent toolbox talks and skills training (per company SOPs).
Build a culture of ownership: clean trucks, organized trailers, and pride in workmanship.

Safety & Compliance
Enforce PPE, jobsite safety standards, and safe driving/trailer practices.
Conduct job hazard assessments; investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

Fleet, Equipment, & Materials
Own daily readiness: large equipment, small hand tools, small handheld equipment, trucks, and trailers.
Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, and vendor support to minimize downtime.
Manage material ordering and staging to avoid delays and waste.
Track inventory and usage; identify loss, damage, and recurring failures.

Snow & Ice Operations (Seasonal Responsibility)
Lead preseason planning: route setup, staffing plan, equipment inspections, and material stock levels.
Coordinate dispatch and route coverage during events; adjust resources in real time.
Ensure documentation for each event (times, conditions, services performed, photos when required).
Maintain readiness standards: plow setup, spares, hydraulic checks, spreader calibration, and salt management.
Support post-storm reviews to improve routes, response times, and quality.

Required Qualifications
3+ years in residential landscape leadership (Crew Leader, Foreman, Supervisor, Ops).
Strong knowledge of residential landscape standards and common enhancements.
Proven ability to manage multiple crews, schedules, and priorities.
Strong communication skills (field team + homeowners).
Comfortable using mobile apps for schedules, time, photos, and notes.
Valid drivers license and ability to meet insurability requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
Snow & ice management leadership experience.
Irrigation troubleshooting experience.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Applicator license (or willingness to obtain if needed).
CDL/Trailer experience and fleet coordination background.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent walking/inspections.
