We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to join our team and play a vital role in mapping, measuring, and analyzing land features for a variety of projects. As a Land Surveyor, you will utilize advanced surveying equipment and software to gather precise data, interpret complex spatial information, and support civil engineering and construction initiatives. Your expertise will ensure accurate land boundaries, topographical details, and infrastructure layouts, contributing to successful project planning and execution. Duties
Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, 3D scanners, and other advanced surveying tools to collect accurate spatial data.
Prepare detailed survey sketches, schematics, and reports using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and Carlson.
Perform topographic surveys, boundary surveys (including ALTA surveys), construction staking, and as-built documentation.
Analyze survey data with GIS platforms like ArcGIS and integrate findings into project plans.
Utilize trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math principles to calculate distances, angles, elevations, and land features.
Operate 3D scanners and Trimble equipment for high-resolution data collection of terrain and structures.
Collaborate with civil engineers and architects to develop accurate schematics and design layouts aligned with project specifications.
Maintain meticulous records of survey data, field notes, sketches, and reports for project documentation.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards related to land surveying practices.
Support construction teams by providing precise staking instructions and verifying site measurements during project execution.
Requirements
Proven experience in land surveying or civil engineering projects involving land measurement techniques.
Strong proficiency with GPS technology, total stations, 3D scanners, and CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson.
Solid understanding of GIS platforms like ArcGIS for spatial analysis.
Knowledge of surveying principles including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math fundamentals essential for accurate calculations.
Familiarity with schematics development for construction plans and ALTA surveys for property title insurance purposes.
Experience with data collection tools such as Trimble equipment and the use of CAD drafting techniques in land surveying contexts.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and civil engineering drawings accurately.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in fieldwork and data analysis.
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
Certification or licensing as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) is preferred but not mandatory depending on jurisdiction.
