Join our dynamic team as a Land Surveyor Party Chief and lead field surveying operations with enthusiasm and precision! In this vital role, you will oversee survey crews, plan and execute land survey projects, and ensure accurate data collection for a variety of civil engineering, construction, and land development projects. Your expertise will drive project success by managing survey activities, coordinating with clients and engineers, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment while guiding a team toward excellence. Our teams work 4 10 hour days per week.

Lead and supervise survey crews in the field, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection for land boundaries, topography, construction staking, ALTA surveys, and other land surveying projects. Plan daily survey activities by reviewing project plans, schematics, and specifications to determine appropriate methods and equipment needed. Operate advanced surveying instruments such as GPS units, Trimble systems, 3D scanners, total stations, and robotic total stations to capture precise measurements. Apply principles of trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and math to calculate distances, angles, elevations, and coordinate adjustments for accurate mapping. Conduct data collection for various surveys including ALTA (American Land Title Association) surveys and construction staking to support project development. Coordinate with engineers and project managers to review survey plans and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Maintain detailed records of field activities, survey data logs, equipment calibration logs, and incident reports. Ensure all fieldwork adheres to safety protocols while maintaining high standards of quality control throughout the surveying process.

Proven experience as a Land Surveyor Party Chief or similar role with demonstrated leadership in the field. Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques including GPS technology, total stations, 3D scanning technology, and traditional surveying methods. Experience working with land surveying equipment such as Trimble systems or Carlson software is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with team members, clients, engineers, and project stakeholders.
