Job Description

CoreBioLabs is a CAP accredited, CLIA certified, High Complexity reference laboratory specializing in cancer diagnosis. Our goal is to develop and provide innovative diagnostic tools to improve physician's capabilities through our urine cytology, molecular and pharmacogenetic testing. Our primary focus is the creation of innovative screening tests that can detect cancers and cancer precursors at their earliest stages, which correlates to less invasive treatments and cures, while decreasing mortality rates.

Job Summary:


The role of the Laboratory Technician - is to perform tests and assist in maintenance of lab technical process under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor. Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests while following all established SOPs.

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):


Processes, and handles throat, nasal and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures. Adhere strictly to safety procedures Set up regular PCR, and RT-PCR for COVID and Rapid Antigen Testing. Familiar with Quantstudio Flex systems and Kingfisher/or Lab Turbo Extraction. Perform data entry review in LIMS system. Follow SOP, quality control and HIPPA procedures to perform job duties. Perform proficiency test and take corrective action when needed. Perform daily preventative maintenance, service, and QC logs for lab instruments and equipment. Ensure that laboratory inventory is well-stocked and resourced. Keeps shipping records according to established procedures Participate in CAP inspection preparation. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities):


Bachelor's Degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, medical technology, or a related field. Meets requirements for CLIA high complexity testing personnel. Effective communication skills. Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to work in fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Strong teamwork skills. Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:


Two plus years clinical laboratory experience, preferred. Experience with Molecular RT-PCR, preferred. Data entry and accessioning experience, preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment


Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 10-30 pounds on occasion. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


Must be available on Saturdays
