We are looking for a
Laborer/Forklift Operator
to join our team. RDF Builders is proud to offer specialized training to our employees to help meet job requirements.
This position requires in-person reporting to assigned construction project jobsites, with travel to and from other construction jobsites, main offices, and off-site meetings and trainings as required.
You will be responsible for:
Performing general laborer duties including site cleanup, material handling, staging, and assisting other trades.
Operating rough-terrain forklifts/telehandlers to move materials as directed (experience required; current certification preferred).
Assisting with basic hoisting, rigging, flagging, and equipment spotting (if certified).
Supporting job site logistics, including loading/unloading deliveries.
Setting up and maintaining temporary site safety controls, walk paths, barricades, and general safety infrastructure.
Following all jobsite safety guidelines and communicating hazards immediately.
Working collaboratively with superintendents, foremen, and crew members to maintain workflow and productivity.
You are qualified if you have:
1-2 years of general laborer experience.
Valid Washington State Driver's License and a clean driving record.
A current or recent certification in rough-terrain forklift / telehandler or rigging/hoisting.
Hoisting and rigging training beyond basic certification.
TESC certification and/or experience with dewatering systems.
Knowledge of temporary power systems and jobsite electrical layouts.
The ability to work full shifts outdoors in all weather and navigate uneven terrain.
The ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety.
The ability to follow direction and adapt to fast-changing job site needs.
The ability to interact with staff, contractors, and community members.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience on large multifamily, commercial, or transit-oriented development sites.
Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position for which impairment while working presents a substantial risk of death, the pre-employment drug screen will include testing for non-psychoactive cannabis metabolites (marijuana). RDF Builders Co. is required by law to identify such safety sensitive positions prior to an applicant's application for employment (see ESSB 5123, effective January 1, 2024).
Salary range is $35.00 - $50.00 per hour base, "+" operator/prevailing wage scale depending on
equipment experience and project classification.
