Position Summary The position offered by Southwest Salt Company is a full-time straight day job. Our employees are home every night with their families. This position reports to the Plant Manager. Primary work is operating the forklift, but work assignments can change. During the new team member\xe2\x80\x99s probation period you will be matched with a senior team member and mentored in the proper and safe methods of this operation. With safety as our main expectation for all our team members, you will be required to comply with all Federal and State regulations. Each candidate will be expected to learn and demonstrate competence in those processes required to meet our daily production needs. Position Responsibilities . Ability to follow safe forklift driving rules and regulations . Operate forklift to assist in the movement and organization of the inventory . Must be able to fill out required paperwork on a daily basis . Ability to work in a changing environment . Must be able to prioritize and coordinate work activities in an efficient manner . Ability to enter and back out of tight spaces without damaging product or surroundings . Must be willing and able to support and assist maintenance personnel in various repair and installation work . Must be able to work in other departments and do other tasks as needed Position Requirements . Ability to drive forklifts with past experience . Must be able to recognize safety hazards . Understand and follow instructions . Must have basic math skills . Ability to express ideas clearly in written and/or oral communication with team members to complete various duties and responsibilities. . Ability to work outdoors/indoors, in hot/cold, noisy, and dusty environments . Ability to routinely lift and stack 55+/- pound bags and boxes . Ability to work in a fast paced environment . Must be able to fill out required paperwork on a daily basis, good verbal and written communication skills . Ability to learn at a fast pace and keep up with any and all changes that occur in the plant Physical Requirements . Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds routinely . Must be able to stand and work for prolonged periods . Must be able to twist/turn, push/pull, squat, and reach above shoulder frequently while working . Must be able to occasionally work from heights while wearing a safety harness Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
