Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Laborer to remove old flooring and prepare the space for installation of new flooring. This role involves using sledge hammers to break up old tile or pulling up old vinyl flooring by hand. Moving furniture around and some assistance handing me tools and new boxes of flooring while I install. Opportunity to grow and become an installer. Training provided.

Duties

Remove old flooring materials such as carpet, tile, or vinyl using appropriate tools and techniques Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling gaps to ensure seemless install. Maintain cleanliness of work areas by performing janitorial and custodial tasks as needed Operate cleaning equipment for carpet cleaning and floor care purposes Follow safety guidelines during all phases of floor removal and preparation Dispose of debris responsibly in accordance with environmental services standards Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely

Requirements

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Ability to lift 100lbs. A focused, detail oriented approach to everything you do, professionally. Hardworking and trust worthy. Intermediate proficiency with English language. Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or environmental services is preferred Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between job sites as needed A proactive attitude towards safety procedures and environmental compliance
Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 32 per week
