Laborer
Job Description
Abernethy Contracting is seeking a Laborer. The ideal candidate will, at a minimum, possess the ability to:
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
Clean and prepare construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.
Respect and follow leadership and directions from assigned foreman.
Treat co-workers, subcontractors and customers with respect and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS
Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations. Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment. Commitment to safe work practices. Reliable transportation. Must pass a pre-employment background screening.
