JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision receives and processes patients\xe2\x80\x99 specimens (blood, urine, spinal and other fluids) for laboratory testing. Serves as the front line representative of the laboratory
- Communicates effectively with members of patient care team and other hospital staff
- Develops effective working relationships with customers, co-workers, and physicians
- Assumes primary responsibility for the quality assurance of every specimen received and handled in the laboratory.
- Receives and processes specimens sent to the laboratory and maintains appropriate records and documentation
- Thoroughly investigates and resolves discrepancies.
- Performs and documents routine equipment maintenance as necessary
- Complies with LifeBridge patient safety mission, policies and procedures
- Education/Knowledge: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma: GED equivalent or High School certificate
- 1 -3 years of previous relevant experience required
