We are hiring a part-time

Laboratory Sample Receiver

in our Wastewater laboratory, where you'll play an essential role in keeping our operations organized and efficient. You'll be responsible for receiving, verifying, and preparing environmental and plant samples that support regulatory compliance and protect our community's water resources. Duties and Responsibilities

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.



Receives, verifies, logs, and organizes incoming plant, pretreatment, industrial, and miscellaneous samples; maintain proper chain-of-custody documentation Prepares and distributes weekly sample kits and bottles for plant sampling, environmental sampling, special projects, and pretreatment needs Ships environmental surveillance sample coolers weekly and coordinate with couriers and subcontract labs for sample pickups and deliveries Maintains sample receiving areas by stocking clean bottles, supplies, chemicals, labels, and coolers. Keeps workspaces organized and sanitized Performs weekly and monthly facility checks including safety showers, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, and inventory of warehouse Scans, files, and maintains Chain of Custodies and laboratory documentation. Produces login reports and ensures accurate data entry into the LIMS system

Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience:



High school diploma (or GED) and at least 1 year of relevant experience is required



OR



Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.



Licensing and Certifications:



Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
