Title: Laboratory Shift Lead

Pay Rate $27.74

JOB REQUIREMENTS and RESPONSIBLITIES

Commitment to personal safety as well as efficient operations. Ability to read, write, understand, and speak clearly in English. Applicants must have good oral and written communication skills. Clear communication of process conditions verbal and written along company directives to oncoming shifts. Commitment to regular attendance & be able to work overtime with little notice. Applicants should possess effective time management skills Job requires multi-tasking, good organizational skills, and initiative Applicants must work well within a crew environment Accurately perform routine analysis, utilizing existing Lab equipment. Perform basic math skills. Ability to enter data into a computer. Work rotating shifts. Ability to work in hot, humid, steamy conditions and be able to work around beet and Laboratory chemical fumes. Complete any duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Carry sample trays while maneuvering stairways. Stand for prolonged periods of time, up to 12 hours. Obtain samples from various locations throughout the facility, including but not limited to: + Beet End - 3 floors
+ Sugar End - 3 floors
+ Pulp Deck
+ Boiler House and/or Outside Buildings
Testing samples using Standard Laboratory Methods of Analysis without exception. Housekeeping duties - Keeping all trash picked up and thrown out through the shift and at the end of the shift, and cleaning up spills at the end of each shift. Ensuring all supplies to start off next shift are ready and in order. Performing any other duties as assigned by lead bench or Supervisor on duty.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or Equivalent
