Position Highlights The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research and education. The UACC has recently been re-designated as a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. The UACC is the only NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center headquartered in the State of Arizona and one of only 53 in the nation.

To support the success of this initiative a Precision Immune Profiling Facility has been created and is actively recruiting a Lab Coordinator I with experience in performing comprehensive immune profiling on clinical and basic research samples. The primary purpose of this position is to support daily laboratory research conducted in the Immune Profiling Facility that provides technical and scientific expertise across the UACC and the University of Arizona.

The candidate we seek will explore and discover answers to challenging questions, develop, facilitate, implement, evaluate, perform and oversee a wide variety of research programs related to immune monitoring and biospecimen processing within the facility. This role will require sound technical expertise in biospecimen processing, multi-color flow cytometry, metabolic and functional immune assays, ELISA/ ELISPOT, single cell RNA and protein work. Reliable organization, record keeping, and scientific communication with various collaborators is expected.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Immune profiling experiment design and execution.
  • Communicate with investigators to determine project design and present results.
  • Designs, modifies, and/or adapts established standard operating procedures to support researcher needs.
  • Plans, develops, and formulates procedures.
  • Operates, calibrates, and conducts performance checks on complex laboratory equipment.
  • Biospecimen processing and biobanking.
  • Coordinate sample collections from hospital and clinic sites in coordination with the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) Clinical Trials Office (CTO).
  • Process, bio-bank, and maintain inventories of human biospecimens.
  • Develop and implement protocols for expanding biobanking capacities on a large scale.
  • Supports basic laboratory functions.
  • Daily laboratory maintenance and organization.
  • Purchasing and PO execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Fluency with record keeping, data acquisition, and report generation.
  • Willingness to travel to receive specialized training if necessary.
  • Ability to quickly adapt priorities based on facility needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
Preferred Qualifications * Master\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s degree or relevant work experience in related area.
  • Experience in Cancer Immunology/Immune Profiling or complex molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience with multispectral flow cytometry.
  • Experience with project development and execution.
  • Experience with cell culture. * Experience with academic research.
