Tangram Chemical, a TCPA Company is a manufacturer of High Purity Inorganic Chemicals and a provider of Custom Chemical Services is looking for a Laboratory Aide in Holtsville, NY. Under direct supervision, the Laboratory Aide provides routine assistance in the performance of laboratory tests and/or research. Washes glassware and stocks laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies as appropriate, and may keep routine records and reports on laboratory results according to established procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Receive / Log / Discard /Archive samples. \xc2\xb7 Receive / Log / Discard reagents and chemicals. \xc2\xb7 Transports laboratory materials and/or specimens to the sample library (as required). \xc2\xb7 Wash glassware and store laboratory equipment, facilities, and supplies after completion of laboratory testing (as required). \xc2\xb7 Practices safety, using environmentally conscious methods. \xc2\xb7 Perform basic testing on equipment cleaning samples. \xc2\xb7 Calibrate Scales. \xc2\xb7 Remove / Discard expired reagents from the laboratory. \xc2\xb7 Foreign Matter inspection. \xc2\xb7 Water content determination by moisture balance and Karl Fisher. \xc2\xb7 Cleaning filter crucibles. \xc2\xb7 Preparation of Standards, Volumetric Solutions, Indicators etc. \xc2\xb7 Laboratory housekeeping. \xc2\xb7 Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: \xc2\xb7 A minimum of one year of college chemistry or other science. Individual must be organized and able to maintain detailed data records. \xc2\xb7 Be able to follow instructions. \xc2\xb7 Be able to lift 50 pounds. \xc2\xb7 Neat handwriting. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Must be able and comfortable with MULTITASKING in a fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
