A laboratory technician is responsible for performing scientific tests and analyses on samples in a laboratory setting, including collecting specimens, operating specialized equipment, recording data, and reporting results, often following strict protocols to ensure accuracy and quality control, while adhering to safety guidelines.
Essential Functions
Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment to ensure laboratory can maintain high sample throughput.
Follow written test procedures to ensure consistency in sample testing.
Accurately documents information by maintaining daily logs; equipment record books; an organized laboratory notebook including samples
Analyze results collected and ensure data is reported in a timely manner.
Performing tests by operating laboratory equipment like microscopes, automated analyzers, and specialized instruments to conduct various tests on samples
Communicating findings accurately and timely to relevant parties
Ensure quality control by following established protocols and procedures to maintain accuracy and consistency in results
Role Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2-3 years of Laboratory Experience
Strong understanding of scientific principles and laboratory techniques
Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to follow established protocols and safety procedures
Good communication and documentation skills

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
