The ROO is an organization that supports the operations of over 200 company owned and over 1,000 franchised convenience retail stores operating under the brands of Thorntons and ampm across the west coast, midwest, and northeast. Essential Job Functions (RESPONSIBLE TO)
\xef\x82\xa7 Drive safely and deliver hazardous materials as dispatched.
\xef\x82\xa7 Follow all rules as prescribed by DOT regulations.
\xef\x82\xa7 Perform post-trip inspection of truck and tank trailer each shift.
\xef\x82\xa7 Handle the stress of road conditions, traffic, and changes in dispatch.
\xef\x82\xa7 Adhere to and recognize the conditions of the road.
\xef\x82\xa7 Follow the procedures as dictated by each terminal where the freight (gas and distillates) are loaded.
\xef\x82\xa7 Load petroleum from the terminal as dispatched and unload the petroleum at designated site in compliance with DOT regulations, company policy, and without spill.
\xef\x82\xa7 Enter tracking and load information on truck computer as required.
\xef\x82\xa7 Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Paid training as well as uniform provided.

Preferred Qualifications Education
\xef\x81\xbe High school diploma or equivalent Experience
\xef\x81\xbe A minimum of 1 year driving experience in commercial vehicle.
\xef\x81\xbe Experience with fuel tankers is preferred. Knowledge/Skills
\xef\x81\xbe Strong analytical skills.
\xef\x81\xbe Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.
\xef\x81\xbe Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal.
\xef\x81\xbe Knowledge and understanding of freight logistics. Equipment/Special Expertise
\xef\x81\xbe Knowledge of equipment, Tractor, and Tank Trailer and functions thereof.
\xef\x81\xbe General computer skills. Other Considerations
\xef\x81\xbe Required to have CDL license Class A, Hazmat (X) endorsement.
\xef\x81\xbe Must be able to pass DOT physical and obtain TWIC card.
\xef\x81\xbe Must have clean Motor Vehicle Record.
\xef\x81\xbe Required to submit and pass, drug and alcohol testing during pre-employment screening and at random during employment.
\xef\x81\xbe Must pass written test and road test given by Thorntons Transportation
