Job Description

Position Summary: The concrete mixer truck driver safely operates a specialized hauling vehicle designed to manufacture, deliver and unload ready-mixed concrete and related materials to varying locations within and near Toledo, Ohio. The mixer truck driver receives direction and work assignments from the designated dispatcher/plant manager. Deliveries are made to job sites (frequently off highway) with difficult and congested delivery unloading points. Work hours vary daily according to customer demand for product and services. Night and weekend work assignments are often required.

We are now offering a $1000 Sign-On Bonus. Additional details will be discussed in an interview.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represents Kuhlman Corporation to a variety of customers in a positive manner that will assist in achieving the goals of the Company.

• Responds courteously and conscientiously while exceeding high customer expectations for quality and customer service.

• Maintains assigned equipment in a clean and work-ready condition, including minor maintenance and repairs.

• Reports for work as scheduled.

• Becomes knowledgeable in the quality and safe application of the concrete products produced and delivered.

• Complies with all OSHA and USDOT/FMCSA safe-operating practices.

• Follows direction.

• Works safely and efficiently.

• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned, including truck or plant maintenance, truck and mixer-drum cleaning, mowing and weed control at plant site, etc.

• Complies with all Company policies, including those restricting the use of hand-held mobile telephones. Federal regulations prohibit the use of hand-held mobile telephones while driving a truck, whether in transit or temporarily stopped. Company policy prohibits the use of hand-held mobile telephones during work hours, except during break times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school.

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

• Have working knowledge and experience in minor repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks.

• Possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio-issued Commercial Driver s License (CDL) as required for the equipment being operated.

• Does not abuse alcohol or use drugs. Kuhlman Corporation is a drug-free workplace and complies with all USDOT/FMCSA regulations.

• Lift and carry loads up to 100 lbs.

• Climb and descend a ladder in a safe manner.

• Knowledge of local roads, streets and highways for efficient deliveries.

• Understand the principles of quality concrete and concrete construction practices.

• Use personal protective and safety equipment as directed.

• Maintains a violation-free motor vehicle driving record.

• Operates a concrete mixer in varying job site conditions in a safe and productive manner.

• Cooperates with customers.

• Is accountable for money collected for goods and services and immediately returns it to the Company.

• Alerts the customer and Company to unsafe conditions on the job site.

Rate of Pay: Based on skill and experience within the ready mixed concrete industry.

Clothing Requirements:

• Long pants of durable construction provided by the Employee. Pants must be tear-free and clean. Pants must be full-length and not loose fitting.

• Fluorescent t-shirt or other high-visibility work shirt/jacket provided by the Company. Shirts must be tear-free and clean.

• 8" work boots with non-slip tread and steel toes provided through the Company\'s work-boot program. The Company requires that employees only wear specific makes/models of work boots from an approved vendor and provides the employee with a subsidy of up to $100/year for this purpose. Work boots must be free of holes or tears.

• Waterproof gloves, safety glasses, hardhat, high-visibility clothing, and other personal protective equipment to be worn as directed in safety-sensitive areas/situations--provided by the Company.
