Job Description

This position is responsible for:

The Kroc Associate is focused on member acquisition and experience in the areas of Membership, Recreation and Fitness. These staff members are responsible for participating in the creation of a welcoming, helpful, and safe environment where individuals and families can learn, grow, and thrive. Oversees the daily use of the fitness center and equipment by members, guests, and visitors; ensures safe, professional, and enjoyable operation of the fitness area; ensures the safety, cleanliness and proper maintenance of the fitness facility and equipment; opens and/or closes the gym and basic set up for events on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Traction Rec computer software for customer transactions in accordance with Salvation Army and member policies and handle cash transactions in an ethical manner Warmly greet all people that we encounter throughout the Kroc Center Look for opportunities to be helpful to members, guests, and colleagues Explain Kroc member offerings, such as Afterschool Programs, equipment orientation, facility rules, etc. Opens and/or closes the facility and assists with set up for events and group fitness classes, as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements; Ability to read, write and communicate the English language; Ability to demonstrate good physical condition and effort associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to-advanced weight lifting in a fitness center environment including the ability to meet the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs; Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent changes' basis.

Education and Experience

+ Must be at least 18 years of age. + High School diploma or G.E.D. AND + Experience in customer relations and leading fitness and recreational activities preferred. OR + Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
