We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license to design and deliver technical solutions for complex chemical plant construction projects. In this role, you will lead electrical design initiatives and review previously developed drawings to ensure quality, safety, and compliance of electrical systems throughout construction, installation, and maintenance phases.
You will apply your expertise in designing technical solutions for facilities and equipment, while overseeing the technical development of schematics, design documents, specifications, and construction quality checks.
Job Responsibilities:
Create and refine designs, specifications, sketches, and diagrams for electrical systems.
Performs and prepares engineering calculations including energy, load, photometrics, viltage drops, etc.
Construct well-coordinated, technically sound construction documents that are cost effective, clear, efficient and constructible.
Research non-routine code compliance issues and makes determinations of code interpretations consistent with local administrative authorities.
Performs field observations of electrical systems, attends meetings, and makes recommendations for design systems.
Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and coordinating with contractors, design teams, building officials, and owners throughout the construction phase.
Manage client schedules and internal budgets for both design and construction administration tasks.
Produces effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
Communicates and coordinates with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, consultants, etc. throughout the design phases of the building project.
Ensuring installations meet local and international standards such as NEC, IEC, or other relevant codes.
Identifying non-conformities or defects in electrical and instrumentation systems and recommending corrective actions.
Overseeing factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) for equipment and systems.
Supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to validate system readiness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrument, or a related field.
8+ years of professional experience in relevant fields.
A valid Professional Engineer license.
Expert level of experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
Ability to interpret technical documents such as P&IDs, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
