Summary:
The Knowledge Management ("KM") Associate Analyst will support the planning, coordination, and execution of KM projects and initiatives.
The KM Associate Analyst will work closely with the broader KM team, including KM Managers, KM Directors, KM Operations, and cross functional teams for drafting project plans documenting requirements, tracking milestones, communicating with stakeholders, and maintaining project materials.
The role spans many tactical activities across Sidley, working with other firm functions including Information Technology, Data & AI ("D&A"), Learning & Development, Library and Research Services, Marketing, HR and the legal practices to plan and complete assigned projects, with a focus on clear and concise communication and comprehensive documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the KM Operations team, contribute to the development of strategic business goals and overall roadmap for the KM department
Coordinate internal project meetings, prepare materials, manage schedules and ensure follow-up actions are tracked
Communicate with internal stakeholders to gather, confirm, and convey project related information
Establish tracking reporting standards to measure and communicate progress on individual projects and against strategic goals
Document business needs, user feedback, and system/process requirements to support project goals
Participate on project teams with KM Lawyers and the Data & AI team to support pilots, proof of concepts, and roll outs of significant technology - e.g., documenting use cases, testing products and collecting/consolidating feedback
Assist in organizing and maintaining project-related materials and other documents in NetDocuments and KM repositories
Support project teams collaborating with lawyers to assist practice groups with documenting workflow and knowledge sharing initiatives
Participate in cross-functional working groups to support interdepartmental collaboration and firm-wide initiatives
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. Target Salary Range: $70,000 - $83,000 if located in Illinois Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Required:Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
A minimum of three years of relevant operations and/or project management experience
Demonstrated ability to interact diplomatically with all levels of firm personnel
Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to define solutions to support and improve those processes
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
Preferred:
Experience working with project management platforms in a law firm or professional services environment
Familiarity with law firm structure and business practices, as well as practice-specific terminology
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for use in analyzing and presenting information
Familiarity with major technology tools commonly used by large law firms such as document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments), research tools (e.g., Lexis and/or Thomson Reuters products), and SharePoint
Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana) and methodologies, as well as change management strategies
Experience managing projects from inception through planning, execution and completion
