We are currently seeking full-time dietary aide at our Belfast, ME locations.

Job Summary:

Dietary aides will assist the cook in preparing and cook meals for residents and maintain a clean kitchen.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

Helps the cook to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner Prepares various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or numbers of portions to be served. Serves appropriate portions of food to residents, guests, employees. Washes cooking equipment such as pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other pieces. Inventories supplies and equipment. Assists cook with meals and menus. Ensures the cleanliness and functional operation of galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece. Properly uses Personal Protection Equipment, such as gloves, hairnet, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety. Basic understanding of or ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently. Must be able to work well as part of a team. Must be able to work well under pressure. Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.

Education and Experience:

High school or GED equivalent. One year of related experience preferred. ServSafe, preferred but will help get certification.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Requires extended periods of walking and standing, lifting and bending

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
