Kitchen Assistant Position Summary:

The role of the Kitchen Assistants plays a crucial role in the food service industry, aiding chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation. Their responsibilities often involve a variety of tasks, ranging from food preparation to cleaning duties. Kitchen Assistants are primarily tasked with assisting in food preparation and kitchen maintenance, with daily duties and responsibilities including:

Job Responsibility Highlights:

Assist chefs in preparing meals and plating dishes as required Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and well-stocked Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment Handle food storage, rotation, and disposal in compliance with food safety standards Assist in inventory control and order kitchen supplies as needed Carry out basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and maintain sanitation standards Help in serving meals and managing portion control

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

Six years' experience as a kitchen assistant or similar role Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen Manual dexterity able to handle kitchen utensils and appliances Strong team working and communication skills Physical strength and endurance to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours Ability to work in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school is a plus
