Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. This role is vital in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring food safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, strong knife skills, and experience in food handling within a restaurant or catering environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain hands-on experience in the food industry.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly according to recipes and standards Handle food safely and maintain cleanliness in all food prep areas Support cooking processes by preparing ingredients, chopping, slicing, and portioning Maintain proper food storage and labeling procedures Assist with dishwashing and cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment Support serving staff during meal service as needed Help with catering setups and event support when required Ensure kitchen supplies are stocked and organized for efficient workflow

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, catering, or culinary settings is preferred Strong knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team Basic understanding of the food industry standards and practices Prior kitchen or culinary experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates Friendly Personality Coach-able

Pay: From $15.50 per hour
